As part of the district HIB prevention and Character Education programming, The River Edge Elementary Schools are participating in The New Jersey Child Assault Prevention Project.

This is a statewide prevention program whose mission is to provide schools and communities with information and resources to reduce children's vulnerability to assault and bullying. It is a three-pronged approach that provides training workshops for school staff, an informational/discussion session for the parents, and developmentally appropriate classroom workshops for students with the goal of helping children recognize and cope with potentially dangerous or uncomfortable situations.

This project is available to the River Edge Elementary Schools through a state grant and the generosity of REEF. We are very proud to cover this additional cost and contribute to the safety and welfare of our children in such a meaningful way.
